ELIE SAAB
http://www.eliesaab.com/So for my mid-term in Advanced Fashion Sketching, we are supposed to choose a designer to do a five page editorial illustrated spread. I chose Elie Saab's Spring 2011 Couture line because it is so spectacular I couldn't resist. The vibe is very vintage with lots of high necklines, sheer fabrics, narrow silhouettes, and tons and tons of flowers and texture!

My current obsession..
My current obsession happens to be an Australian Illustrator named Sarah Hankinson. I think she has a great, young feel to all of her work. You should check out her portfolio at her website www.sarahhankinson.com
Steven Stipelman
So I was recently assigned a project in my Advanced fashion Sketching class which required us to research a fashion illustrator. And while I was really hoping to get David Downton, or Rene Gruau, or someone I have heard of, BUT to my delight I was assigned Steven Stipelman. Although I didn't know his name, I did know his work. I am so thankful that I got him now, and I found several other great Illustrators who I wasn't as familiar with along the way.
Dexter
This is a pointillism project I did in March of 2010 for my color theory class. It is based off of a picture from one of my favorite shows, Dexter. If you haven't seen it you are obviously uncool because it is amazing and you may also not immediately guess that it is blood that is splattered on his face because he is a serial killer. In this case I chose to work a little larger than I normally do and than I now prefer. The piece is acrylic on a 2'x3' canvas. The largest dots of color are about the size of a finger print and the smallest are about the size of the head of a pin. There are more than 30 different colors in the entire piece.
Intro to Fashion project for the Night of Spectacles
This was a photo shoot that I did of a dress I made Fall quarter, that was partially made of glasses' lenses, for my Intro to Fashion class. Photos courtesy of my former roomate, very good friend, and excellent photographer Joanna Kulesza. ( You can view more of her work at her blog http://jkulesza.tumblr.com/ )
